Cream of tartar is an acidic powder that can be used for many other activities in the home. The acid in the powder repels ants that gather in an area. Ants do not like acidic liquids or objects and often avoid areas that have that kind potency around.

It can also be used to get rid of tough stains where water is in contact with the surface. Mixing hydrogen peroxide and the tartar together to make a paste can make an incredible cleaning agent. Use the mixture around faucets that have been stained and kitchen surfaces too.

Sometimes, our clothes get stained due to sweat or sunblock that cause collars to become yellow. Dampen the collar with some water using a cloth. Sprinkle some cream of tartar onto the shirt and rub it into the stain. From this point you can toss it in the washing machine as normal.
