Sun protection is something you have to be aware of every day this summer. It’s not just trips to the beach that require you to protect yourself. No, you need to protect your skin every day. Exposure to the sun not only affects your skin but your eyes too. Always take special care of your skin by wearing sunscreen and a hat and your eyes by wearing UV protection sunglasses.
Stay in the shade as much as you can to avoid the sun from burning you. It is always best to cover up by wearing a t-shirt and a hat as well as apply sunscreen on your face and body. Your hat must be a wide brimmed hat to keep the UV rays away from your eyes. If you are wearing a baseball cap, don’t forget to apply some sunscreen to your neck area. Always wear sunscreen when you are outdoors. You should always take special care of your child’s skin. The best way to do so is to let them play in the shade and let them wear a hat. When they do play in the sun apply a fair amount of sunscreen onto their skin. Sunburn is dangerous at any age, and is especially harmful in children and young adults.
Protecting the skin from the sun can prevent cancer at a later stage in life. Protect your eyes by avoiding looking directly into the sun. Staring at the sun can damage your retina. Not all sunglasses are adequate, so shop around for a pair that offers 100% UVA and UVB protection. UV levels are at the highest throughout December and January. With continued unprotected exposure, your eyes are at risk of long term damage. Choose glasses with wide or wraparound arms for much more protection, not only for your eyes but the skin around your eyes too. Use your glasses not only for when you are in the sun but for when you’re driving or sitting in the garden also. Don’t be fooled by a cloudy day either, the sun’s rays can still pass through the clouds.
The sun is not the only skin damaging predator. Other culprits include tanning beds, smoking and an unhealthy diet. These culprits can have ill effects to body’s outer layer. It is important to know how to keep your skin healthy. Remember to stay out of the sun between 10am and 2pm. Always use sunscreen when you are outdoors and protect your kids’ skin with children-friendly sunscreen. You can find a wide range of sunscreen at your local wholesaler. Always wear your UV protective sunglasses and always wear protective clothing that covers exposed areas.
